Brian Tichy of Whitesnake signing some of his signature drumsticks for a fan. Brian is a really cool guy. He was talking about how Jake E. Lee was at his show in Las Vegas last night. I then told Brian about the time I saw him play with Ozzy in Vegas in 2000 with Joe Holmes and Robert Trujillo and how it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen (Top 10 out of almost a thousand)- he told me that was one of his first gigs with the band. I had him autograph the back of a TMS sticker for me….
Brian with Michael Devin- bass player of Whitesnake.
Michael Devin was really cool to talk with. I told him how I used to take guitar lessons from Doug Aldrich and we talked about what a wonderfully nice guy Doug is. He told me that he and Doug are heading overseas soon to give some clinics. We also talked about Brian for a minute and I told him the “Ozzy in Vegas” story (which I could go on for hours about- I went to this show LAST minute and ended up on the same plane flying into Vegas as Brian, Joe Holmes and a very young Jack Osbourne for the show- he must have been about 11 years old). Michael said, “Oh yeah- with Joe Holmes!”, so I added “And Robert Trujillo!” That is still my favorite Ozzy line-up of all time. Anyhow, he was a real cool guy and it was nice chatting with him,
And here’s a picture of Brian’s drum kit (technically the first guest drummer in the history of TMS)- there are some great videos out there of how he incorporates speed bagging into his drumming performances- it’s quite a sight to behold! His playing between segments was phenomenal.
DJ Will at the close of the show preparing to boot everyone from the studio…
Special guest on Stump The Trunk:
That Metal Show | Alice Cooper & Jack Russell
Here are my pals Scott and Paula (“That Metal Couple”- they got engaged during Stump The Trunk on Season 8 and just got married in Brazil a few weeks ago) sitting in the last row of the overflow area for the first taping of the day. We officially had the worst seats you could have for the taping, but that was OK- we could see the guests coming out, guests’ wives hanging out by the exit and the people lurking in the back between segments… The guests for the first show was basically Dokken without Don Dokken himself. The guys were funny and it was a good taping.
Scott and Paula between show tapings:

A shot of the lot:
“Jimi Hendrix” in the house!
