My week, in a nutshell

On Mondays I sit down and figure out what I’d like to (or need to) work on in the coming week. I thought it’d be neat to take a photo of the plan, which is also a record of where each project is at.

Yarn, spinning fibre, and knitting projects in progress, sitting in front of a computer screen with the splash page of Fibrations Festival showing on it.

Counter-clockwise from top left:

-more swatching for a slipper design (the greens)

-work on a sweater prototype (the purple: sleeves & back are finished, this is the front)

-spin for a gift project (the purple & green: sampling is done, one ply is spun)

-wind & swatch a new-to-me yarn and see what ideas it inspires (the grey)

-work on a sweater sample (the red: pattern’s written, first sleeve’s done)

-figure out initial measurements & rough out yardage calculations for a jacket idea I’m excited about (the cream)

Fibrations Festival! It’ll be my first fibre festival since Maryland Sheep & Wool in 2019. I am so looking forward to meeting local fibre artists, buying yarn to play with and maybe design with, seeing Catherine Knutsson of Small Bird Workshop surrounded by her glorious yarns, and just wandering around a place full of fellow fibre people. I’ve had my shots, we’ll all be masked, it’s outdoors. It’ll be glorious.
