The Best Remedy

Welcome back, my friends! Stampin’ Up!® has added a new kit to the kits collection. It’s called The Best Remedy, and it’s perfect for when you need cards that comfort or encourage. Here are the cards you can make.

Aren’t those little creatures adorable? My granddaughter Amelia laughs at me, because real mice kind of creep me out, but I like cartoon or stamped mice! And that little bird with the ice pack on his head is so sweet. Here are the contents of the kit.

As you can see, everything you need to create the cards comes with the kit. You’ll get:

I love our Stampin’ Up!® kits! They look so professional and beautiful, yet they are so easy to assemble. You can create the projects according to the instructions, or you can change them a little to add your own personal touch. Personally, I usually create them exactly according to the instructions.

Of course, another good remedy for me is having family around. I so love all my kids – the two I gave birth to and the four that are grafted in. My kids and mom are so sweet to indulge my need for family! Whenever there’s a special occasion or birthday, we have dinner (or “lunch,” actually) for whoever is available. Usually all the kids are here, and my mom and niece Beth. Amelia’s mom’s birthday was Sunday, so we had lunch on Saturday to celebrate Stephanie. Stephanie and my younger son Wes were married when they were quite young, and have since divorced. But Steph and Wes, Garrett (Steph’s second husband) and Katelyn (Wes’s second wife) are all good friends and are amazing parents for Amelia. Of course, everyone loves my older son Jon and his wife Adrianna and Mom and Beth. Our get-togethers are always a bit raucous with a lot of laughter. Garrett and Adrianna did a lot of the cooking this time, and Katelyn brought delicious “cake bites.”

Funny story. In my family, the evening meal was called “supper.” Somewhere along the way, Mike & I started calling it dinner, which was 6 p.m. or after – except on Sunday. Sunday dinner was the midday meal, and Sunday “supper” was just something light and easy. When I was growing up, it was usually grilled cheese sandwiches, popcorn, and ice cream sodas before we watched The Wonderful World of Disney on TV.

The first time Garret came to “dinner,” he was thinking “evening,” even though it was Sunday. So when I noticed he wasn’t eating, I was a little concerned. He finally confessed that he had just eaten lunch, because he thought we were having an evening meal. I sent home “to-go” boxes so he could have something for “dinner.” We also had a long discussion on Cooper Semantics.

I think we all are on the same page now – dinner is evening except on Sunday, when it’s usually 1 p.m. Next up – Amelia’s lunch in a few weeks! She has everyone’s favorites planned for her menu!
