Onslow County middle school teacher arrested for indecent liberties with students

An Onslow County Public Schools middle school teacher has been arrested for having inappropriate relationships and taking indecent liberties with students.

Ashley Henson Beasley, age 32, was arrested on Dec. 6 and charged with two counts of Indecent Liberties with a child and two counts Felony Indecent Liberties with a student by a teacher.

According to the Onslow County Sheriff’s office, an anonymous tip was received on the Hunters Creek Middle School’s online “HCMS-Say Something” site on Dec. 4.

The tip was about possible inappropriate communication between a staff member and a student. The information was that a teacher was having an inappropriate relationship with two 14-year-old male students.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s unit’s investigation revealed that Beasley had sent inappropriate photos and videos of herself to two of her students at Hunters Creek Middle School.

Beasley was placed under an $80,000.00 secured bond by a magistrate and is currently incarcerated in the Onslow County Sheriff’s Detention Center. Her next court appearance is Monday, Dec. 9.

Onslow County Schools issued the following statement:

“Our heart goes out to all of those who have been affected by the events that have resulted in charges being filed against Ashley Beasley. Our primary concern is always for the safety and well-being of our students and the members of our school community. The Onslow County School system maintains high standards for all our employees and these allegations stand in stark contrast to our expectations.

According to the district, Beasley resigned and surrendered her teaching license as of Dec. 5. Her license was valid in the areas of Health Occupations Education: Biotechnology (6-12), Science 9-12, and Science 6-8.

Beasley began work as an 8th-grade science teacher for the school district on Aug. 19 of this year.

Beasley, of Longwood Drive in Stella, is currently in the Onslow County Jail under a $80,000 bond. Her first appearance in court is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9.
