Sympathy cards are always difficult to make. They are not ones I prepare in advance – they would make me too sad. However they are necessary to let our bereaved friends and loved ones know that we care and are thinking about them. For me, sympathy cards need to be simple and quick to make, and yet beautiful, to convey the condolence message.
I used elegant eggplant and whisper white for the card, a colour scheme I’d used before here, and added a butterfly, stamped onto vellum and punched out with the co-ordinating punch.
Lines of embossing and beautiful, stamped images from Stampin’ Up were all the card needed.
Here’s what I used to make today’s card – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:
cardstock: elegant eggplant, whisper white, vellum; stamp sets: papillon potpourri, happy day, teeny tiny wishes; inks: elegant eggplant, sahara sand; punches: elegant butterfly, word window, modern label; accessories: adhesive pearls, stampin’ dimensionals, tombow glue, simply scored scoreboard, stamp-a-majig.
