Daddy Would you Play With Me?
I was asked this question the other day…
Daddy would you play with me…
What could I say.
Into his room I did plummet
Onto the floor …onto my stomach!
We played a game or two…or three
I stood up and …oh my there was a ninja!
looking at me…
He drew his sword and stepped so precise
I just knew that I was about to get sliced and diced!
We fought the most ferocious battle…to the death you see
Then suddenly!
I was being chased by a lawman trying to put me in jail.
He threw me in jail without any bail!
twice I did escape.
But then I was chased by a man in a cape
The dark knight no less did enter
I slide across the floor…ouch a splinter!
To the rescue…the doctor did appear
I have the tweezers an’ neo-porin’ come over here!
Reluctantly I did go
but I was fixed up …just like a pro!
On with the games till I could not no more
for my knee hurt, my back ached, and I was exhausted too.
But then I was given the prize for all my pain
My son came through…
He sat in my lap and said something… that he believed true.
He said “Daddy you’re the best dad ever”… as he clung to me like glue.

THEY MAKE LIFE WORTHWHILE

That is just super-sweet, Stuart!
How can I help but love it. The imaginings
of a boy — put to good use on his dear old dad.
There is no better prize, is there? Feeling 10 ft. tall
and on top of the world…makes the pains of parenthood
worth bearing; makes living worth our while.
Very well expressed, my friend!
Worth all the aches and pains – not so? 😀
Absolutely! beat me from head to toe for more days like these. 🙂
I love to watch kids play. they are such fun to watch. joining them is a bit embarassing but being a dad its your privilege and duty. 🙂
If being embarrassed means enjoying their world and acting like a kid again for a short time then let me be the most embarrassed person on the planet! I enjoy our time together and it helps to point them in the right direction. 🙂
Actually I believe most parents really don’t have the guts to really play…So is it embarrassing or empowering? It is always a pleasure to see you Trisha…Thank you for your visit and I am glad that they fixed the bug. I’ll tell wordpress IT that it is corrected.
I am one of those lucky persons who adore kids and are adored by kids in return. I have spent hours with them, relishing their childish happiness. still my self conscious self blushes at the idea of entering their make-believe world. 🙂
cant help it.
Make-believe invites possibilities where impossibility exists. Why would you want to settle into standards set by others who are simply going by rules set by someone who they never met? The relationship between a parent and their children should not be so serious all the time…It promotes cruelty over generosity in my opinion. Kids learn how to treat other by how we treat them. Playing is part of the job too…That’s all I’m saying and besides it’s fun. Peace be with you Trisha
got the point. 🙂 and you are right.
taking a long break?
take care and have fun.
Had some thing that needed focus the last few days …will catch up when I can. Just received an a commendation for achievement from the Governor of Oklahoma yesterday I have some treats in the works for the patient though. 🙂

Thanks for the support.
What wonderful fun?! Who needs a personal trainer with a kid like that? 🙂
Enjoyed your pleasant moments.
The prize was under-estimated.
Real prize is not only in his comments,
but in the happiness enjoyed during the play,
Pure feelings of childhood enjoyed,
Physical Exercise done,
Bond established between the two,
Physical and psychological benefits to the child
are all priceless, precious and make life really worth living.
