We decided to walk to the Vasarely Museum from our hotel which took a couple of hours and was interesting and enjoyable despite the cold. We passed Margaret Island and some interesting architecture before crossing the Danube over Arpad Bridge. We also had a glimse of the Buda Hills in the distance.

The Buda Hills have a lot to offer, including a narrow gauge railway and a chairlift, but it was mid winter when we visited Budapest so we did not venture there. We will return in the spring next time and venture forth.

Vasarely Museum

Picture from Vasarely Muzeum website.

This museum was more like a gallery and had recently been refurbished. The surreal and disorientating works of art by Victor Vasarely were presented in a lovely 18th century mansion. We loved it here and recommend a visit. Taking photos inside the gallery is not permitted, so visit their website to get an idea of what it has to offer.
