For when your undergraduate subject pool isn’t enough but you may not have the resources to collect more diverse samples on your own…

Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)

The ICPSR curates and provides access to a wide variety of data sets in the social sciences. While psychologists typically collect their own data, many of our questions of interest may already be answerable with existing data sets.

Psychological Science Accelerator

The PSA is a globally distributed network of laboratories with the mission to “accelerate the accumulation of reliable and generalizable evidence in psychological science, reducing the distance between truth about human behavior and mental processes and our current understanding.” The PSA periodically sends out calls for proposals to test novel hypotheses, replications of important phenomenon, and exploratory and confirmatory research.

StudySwap

StudySwap is a platform for researchers to find collaborators to assist in both replications of their own or other people’s work, and the recruitment of hard-to-reach populations. Click here for more information about StudySwap.

Time-sharing Experiments for the Social Sciences (TESS)

The TESS offers social scientists the ability to conduct experimental surveys with a large, diverse, pool of participants from the United States using NORC’s AmeriSpeak® Panel. In addition to collecting primary research data, TESS also archives data from previous studies which can be used for secondary data analysis.
