About Me

I’ve loved writing poetry and short stories since childhood. My first chapbook Flashes of Fiction Poetry & Prose was published by a small Press in the early 2000s (no longer in print). After retiring from the healthcare insurance industry after thirty years, I’m enjoying a second career in life writing poetry, fiction, memoir, and essays. Second Act Writings: An Eclectic Poetry & Prose Collection was published in January 2019 (see here. ) A short story collection, Papier-mâché Dreams: Eclectic Flash & Short Fiction was published in May 2019 (see here.) The ebook version is available on various online stores here. I established Second Acts Press which released its first book, Second Act Writings Volume 2: Poems on Life, Love, & Other Musings in the summer of 2019: the ebook version is available at various online retailers here. The paperback is available on Amazon (here). A memoir, His Brave Heart: My Husband’s Journey from LVAD to Heart Transplant was published in late December 2019 (available here). December 2020 ended with my third published volume of poetry, Pandemic Inspired Poetry: Second Act Writings Volume 3 (available here). In January of 2021, I released a memoir: I Should Write Some of This Down: My Pandemic-Inspired Reflections in late 2020 (available here). My debut novel, “Better Off Alone: The Carole Johnson Chronicles is Book One in the future series of books. The release was February 2023 for the paperback and March 2023 for the eBook format. Both are available here and also at various online book retailers. 

I reside in the Southeast United States where I spend time writing and enjoying my family.
