Christmas Family Fun Day with RNCM

If you remember, me and my family visited the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) back in October for their Young Explorers Hocus Pocus show. It was fantastic!

Last weekend we were happy to be back at the RNCM for the Christmas Family Fun Day!

Before the event I prebooked the sessions for the children- we booked the Christmas Singalong and Percussion.

When we arrived we were greeted by plenty of Christmas characters. We were given a map and shown into the cafe area.

The kids enjoyed a snack whilst we waited for our first session, we listened to the Christmas carols.

Joshua had his face painted (he wanted to be Batman even though it was a Christmas event haha) and we were soon on our way to our first session.

The Christmas Singalong session was taken by two students and Opera singers of the RNCM. We all warmed up before taking part in a fun session of singing and silly dancing!

The next session we took part in was probably my boys favourite session! We entered a studio and was greeted by lots of percussion instruments. Two students explained that the children will all get a chance to try the instruments out! As a group we made music to a scene from Happy Feet, it was so much fun!

In between the sessions there was lots of arts and crafts to get involved in as well as face painting. The cafe was also open but you could bring your own food too.

In the afternoon the main stage opened and everyone took their seats for the showing of Father Christmas with a live audience and live actors for the voices.

It was magical! Such a lovely experience for me and my children. It was lovely to do something a little different than the normal Christmas grottos.

We look forward to seeing more shiws at the RNCM in 2019, you can see their new Spring brochure now.
