My words, my world is my own small place in the information highway. I really enjoy teaching and writing just like how a painter loves painting and forgets everything when he is painting. This blog is my canvas. After taking the Plunnge from the corporate world in 2008 to follow my passion, the thing which has grown is my collection of pens and notepads, my hunger to read and learn, my love to teach and write, my time with my family and friends and most important – my happiness and faith.  Everything else has decreased – like my bank balance, weight, stress etc.

I hope this blog of mine captures my thoughts on this simple little word “passion”. As of today, I define my passion in the following areas

1. My academic work as a teacher – my students, my classes and my reason of leaving the corporate world. I teach subjects that focus on how leaders communicate and get things done. To me, Communication is the most important element of every human. And in the complex world of today, it is crucial that a manager or a leader inspires others to act for a positive action.  So I spend hours researching how leaders speak, write, behave in front of their teams. I hope I create leaders who inspire others for a positive action through their words. It’s a long journey and I am thoroughly enjoying it as I discover myself further. 2. My writings – my first book Plunnge came out in 2011. It talks about a very simple message “if you want to be a painter, and if you feel you could paint for hours without getting tired and nothing else can give you that high, make painting as your full-time career as well”. And you can remove the word painter and insert anything you feel like – chef, politician, farmer, dancer, engineer, doctor etc. More details are on www.plunnge.com or www.facebook.com/plunnge. My second book Seek got released in 2013. And I wrote it for a 18-25 year old of India. I feel they have a tough challenge ahead of them to choose careers. And again, the book has a simple advice for the young to seek their true calling and passions. My recent book which is my first attempt to write on serious academic topics that I study came out in Nov 2015. This topic of persuasive communication is my research focus as well (Look at point 1 above). I teach communication subjects to the first and second year PGP students at IIM Bangalore and also offer as an Executive Education Program. The name of the book is “What to say and when to Shut up” and has been again published by Penguin Random House India.

I hope this blog helps me write more. I will write on the 2 passions above and on related topics on passion/calling.
