Amicus Productions presents the comedy of love, A Month In The Country by Ivan Turgenev, translated by Constance Garnett and adapted by Christopher Douglas at The Papermill Theatre, at the Todmorden Mills historical site (67 Pottery Rd, Toronto). With A Month In The Country, Amicus brings audiences a burst of summer love.  This fresh adaptation is a charmingly funny and bitter-sweet merry-go-round of characters in constant pursuit of those they cannot have. Over the course of a few hot days, a Russian country house runs rampant with misplaced passion. Natalya is infatuated with her young son’s new tutor, and so is her teenage ward, Vera. Mikhail, an old family friend, is tormented by love for Natalya. While Natalya schemes to marry Vera off to an elderly neighbor, her husband begins to suspect that something’s not quite right in his marriage.
