A God (and people?) of 2nd Chances!
This Sunday @ Denton Christian Church we are continuing our God Is… series with a message called “God is….Forgiving!” We are going to look at the Bible’s most famous half-told story, Jonah. The forgiving, 2nd chance God gives Jonah much grace and forgiveness, even if he had to spend 3 days in a fish!
But the part of the story we don’t often tell is that once Jonah goes to Ninevah, they change their ways and God forgives them! This royally ticks off Jonah who was hoping to see a good ole’ city-wide bonfire!
Jonah recieves forgiveness, but refuses to transmit it! Dang! Is that not a picture of our lives so often?
