MV Agusta Rivale – The Sneak Peak Sketch!

The EICMA show in Milan is about to take place and the MV Agusta Rivale has broken cover with an official sketch of its hypermotard-looking design that’s going to be the Italian company’s third addition to the company’s 3-cylinder range.

Having only revealed the rear three-quarter view of the Rivale, it’s pretty much confirmed that it will be carrying a three-cylinder motor; since the three-pipe exhaust system has been carried over from the MV Agusta F3 – an element that has begun to define the company’s three-cylinder motorcycles.

Style-wise, if you train your attention to the rear wheel, which sees it sporting a licence-plate holder, it seems inspiration has come from the Ducati Diavel’s rear end.

Undoubtedly, there’s a strong following of the Ducati brand here in Malaysia, seeing it as the most preferred choice for the luxury 2-wheeler that’s made in ‘Italia’.

But for those who’d like to have something with a stamp that says ‘Made in Italy’ as well, the MV Agusta would be a good breath of fresh air to help add a mix of Italian bikes on Malaysian roads.

The Rivale is expected to feature a bored/stroked-out 800cc 3-cylinder motor (same as the expected-at-Milan MV Agusta Brutale 800), and to be available in September 2013.
