Well, aren’t you suddenly all grown up, little miss intense eyes? Aside from the fact that she looks like she’s wearing some very cheap hair extensions, it’s a surprisingly powerful shot for the queen of twee herself.

Since she’s always in princess dresses, I tend to forget that Taylor Swift is ridiculously statuesque and has legs for days – the kind of legs that scream out for fierce pants, if only Taylor weren’t too precious for pants on the red carpet. But her awesome body posing and the angle of the shot make her legs look positively endless, and I can’t get enough of this sort of mod-meets-disco look on her.

LEGS. FOR. DAYS. I can’t say it enough – Taylor should rock pants on the red carpet all the time. She’s made for them. Also, I love the way she’s glaring at her nails as if she’s about to write an angsty breakup song about them. (She and her manicurist are never, ever, ever getting back together.)

Probably the first time I’ve ever looked at a picture of Taylor Swift and thought “wow, that girl looks cool. I want to sit in a smoky lounge and drink cocktails with that bitch.” This is something I think often about celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson, but never T.Swift. Also, the shoes: to die for.

More amazing shoes. She doesn’t give too much variety in terms of facial expression, but anything besides her surprised face is okay by me. And she’s more than making up for it with actions shots and surprisingly great posing.

Eh. This didn’t really need to make it to print – it’s fine, but it’s kind of underwhelming. She’s also back to looking like meek Taylor, which is one of my least favorite T.Swift personas.

I don’t know if this is poorly photoshopped or just generally gravity-defying, but PANTS ALL OF THE PANTS TAYLOR PLEASE WEAR MORE FABULOUS PANTS KTHANXBAI. Also, was there a non-stupendous pair of shoes in this entire shoot? I think not.

Eh. Kind of a crappy cover for an otherwise great shoot. I hate pink eyeshadow as a rule – conjunctivitis much? – but the doe-eyed look is even worse. Also, the hair in her face is killing me – you just know it got stuck to her lip gloss and streaked it all over her face right after this photo was taken, right?

Taylor always looks so fabulous in magazine shoots, I’m still not over the one which I will forever fondly remember as ‘THAT KICK ASS PHOTO SHOOT WITH THE BOOTS.’

I thought about that other shoot nonstop while writing this post – magazine editors clearly love to dress up Taylor like 1960s/1970s rock stars and models. Why can’t she adopt that for her everyday life??

They really do put her in a lot of 60/70s stuff, but she just keeps thinking “But I just want to be a precious princess with a bit of hipster!” She needs to dump the princess dresses.
