Today’s writing session lasted seven hours, commencing at 11am and accompanied by a random selection of music, two mugs of honey sweetened tea, several mugs of white coffee, a bacony cheesy melty thing that tasted delicious (I didn’t make it I just ate it!), one toasted hot-cross bun, a ham, lettuce and cheese sandwich, an Oettinger pilsner German beer and half a chocolate Easter egg. It doesn’t seem to matter how much earlier I begin writing – the session and the stories just get longer!
‘Snakebite’ is 6020 words long, Telling Tale number 32 and is the first Telling Tale for April; scribed on Easter Monday, April Fools Day. ‘Snakebite’ is not about snakes or snakebite, though it does rather contain some snake-like, sneaky people – and a fool! It’s a drama and an intrigue. I abhore pushy people and this story was inspired by a pre-Easter shopping experience four days ago, when a pig-headed blonde guy pushed me suddenly into a shoe stand! Needless to say I was most unimpressed.
Thus far the Telling Tales series has notched up just over 82,000 words; only 18,000 to go! Here’s how it looks thus far;
