Welcome to Day 15 of Romancing September Across The World Tour. Today our guest is Laura E James. Catch up with more from Laura in a few hours with the second part of our tour when Stephanie chats to Laura.
1)Where is your home town?
Weymouth, in Dorset, which is a beautiful and inspirational coastal county in the UK.
2)How long have you been writing romance?
I started writing romance in the mid-noughties, 2007.
3)What is your favourite sub-genre of romance?
I love issue-based romances ‒ ones that make me consider my actions and motives if I were faced with the same problems.
4)Where does Victoria work?
Victoria Noble is the Director of EweSpeak, a British social networking site with an office in London. It’s a demanding job, but one she has thrown herself into, as the virtual world provides her with a sanctuary from real life.
5)What does EweSpeak offer its clients?
A secure site from which to connect with their families, friends and/or fans. It’s a particularly good platform for the rich and famous as it was originally created to support that customer base.
6)Why has Chris Frampton returned from Hollywood?
Chris Frampton has suffered a terrible tragedy in LA, losing his wife and one of his twin boys to an awful accident. His other twin son, Rick, survived, but is traumatised by the loss of a mother and brother. Scared he’s losing Rick too, and in a desperate, last-ditch attempt to bring Rick back to life, Chris returns home to the UK, hoping sharing his past with his son will help them reconnect.
7)Can you hint at some of the secrets he is trying to escape?
His secrets are tied in with his late wife’s past and the impact they could have on his son’s recovery.
8)What is the biggest stumbling block for any relationship between Victoria and Chris?
‘Follow Me, Follow You’ is a reunion story, and for both parties, getting back together will depend on how they decide to handle the past.
9)Tell us what you are working on at the moment.
Book 3 has a working title of ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ and is set in and around Dorset, as my previous two novels are, and it’s a story of Griff Hendry, a thirty-nine-year-old Coastguard Watch Officer. He believes everything and everybody can be saved. His wife and father think otherwise, and his fifteen-year-old step-daughter, Tess, has her own thoughts on the subject. It’s a dark romance examining the sandwich generation and the pressures each family member experiences in trying to hold the sacred unit together.

I am currently not married, nor do I have children, but I would be truly devastated if I had lost my husband and a child in the same day, and I can just imagined it from the child’s perspective as well. And I am rooting for Chris and Rick in getting their happy ending, and I can’t wait to read to see how Victoria affects them throughout the book.

Laura, I like when stories start with a big bang. Losing loved ones is the most painful experience one can experience and it sure changes the attitude toward life in people. Looking forward to read how your characters will grow throughout the novel.
