New for May in Japan, Casio is releasing a new colorway that spans most of their most popular G-Shock models: Garish Black.
While this blogger doesn’t follow the use of the term “garish” to describe the somewhat staid, monochromatic color scheme, it does track that shiny black plastic watches could be considered tacky enough to fit into the “street-wear” segment of contemporary watch fashion. Far be it for us that report, that we should understand the inner workings of the devious calculating minds of Japanese marketing staff.
Evidently, black sells.
For a closer look, here’s a high resolution video (thanks to watchtanaka.com) that will take you all around the new Garish Black RiseMan..

Why can’t we get this watch with the 3147 module (not the 3145 module) which reads feet, temp in F, and pressure in inHg. Also has the dragon engraved back with the blacked out face, not the flying squirrel. We can only get blacked out model without atomic timekeeping that I can find.
