Heavyweight slugger Luis “King Kong” Ortiz shared his final thoughts from training camp before he steps in to rematch WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder on PPV this Saturday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “As I’ve said before, Wilder is the best heavyweight of this decade and until someone beats him, he will remain the top dog. We have a different strategy in place that I believe will be the difference in this rematch. I have plans to end this fight before the final bell, but if we need to go the distance, I’m well prepared to take it all the way.”

Had to take a lot of motivation for Ortiz to get in this type of shape at this age. Thats the fear Wilder puts in opponents. I’m amped for this fight

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here over Ortiz’s weight loss. Ortiz if not used to being thinner in most of his fights. Yes, his speed will improve, but I will question his power punches and chin going into this fight plan since he will be lighter and yes, older… Wilder will make his adjustments as well, but I favor Wilder’s massive right hand to finish the job nicely.
i am impressed with the shape Ortiz is in. Something is off about this whole event though. I know it is all relative and Fury is next, but this is a really good matchup, and you wouldn’t think it. I expect to Wilder to win, but technically Ortiz was outboxing Wilder. If his preparation has all been about stamina and focus he may have a good chance.
Ortiz looks incredible. If he can avoid getting hit solid, he has a chance to win the fight.

[ dishonest ] background. I have zero respect for Mr. Ortiz.

Ortiz really hasn’t been the same ferocious puncher since his positive d-bol test. Go back a few years and this guy was a monster. Once he failed his test, he’s never had the same power. As for Conte and crew, the whole WADA/USADA/VADA system is set up for chemist-doctors to earn a living making new drugs that are undetectable. Keep in mind, elevated testosterone doesn’t cause failed drug tests, banned metabolites do. Until performance enhancement is banned instead of detectable metabolites, these people will always be in the game. The best thing to do for the sport is allow any drug that doesn’t boost testosterone above 1,000 ppbl, but fail any male athlete who tests above that even if no drugs are detected in the bloodstream.

I honestly believe Wilder will win this fight but had no idea how serious Ortiz was taking this rare 2nd opportunity its now another pick em fight and could very well be an upset in the works here.
With that said if Ortiz does pull off the upset win do the fans trash talk and disregard Wilder in the same fashion they did Joshua when he lost? Somehow I believe Wilder will get a pass if he loses he wont get the…. He was always over rated, he was always a bum, he was protected by his promoter treatment

Boxing has always been at the top of the list for it being an unforgiving sport. Anytime someone loses they are a bum until they prove themselves otherwise after the loss.The Wilder doubters have merit because of Wilder’s lack of actual boxing ability. But his power is crazy and could be rated with the most power of all-time despite what critics think. Hopefully Wilder wins because I’d love to see Fury/Wilder 2.

Every decent fighter Wilder has fought was outboxing him before ending badly knocked out… But soon he’s gonna fight someone with good speed and movement who’s gonna be able to eat everything Wilder is gonna throw at him; and his reign is gonna end abruptly.. He’s hitting hard but i cannot find any other quality that makes an all time great in the future, i can give you my toughts on who is actually able to beat him in the near future :
– Fury in great shape in the rematch
– Ruiz if he beats Joshua again next month.
– Usyk after 2 other fights at HW.
– Dilian White if he comes ungry and in shape.
– Daniel Dubois in 1 year
– Tony Yoka in 3 or 4 fights
He’s a legit champ because he’s unbeaten but was really tested just once by a comebacking Fury who should have taken another tune up fight against a top 10 HW before actually taking the Wilder fight; that in my opinion would’ve give him the Victor..
No way Ruiz beats Wilder. Fury Rematch will be interesting. Fury could be scared and run way more in the 2nd fight which will have him lose a close decision. I don’t think Usyk beats any of the top heavyweights. All it takes is one shot from Wilder. Going to be a good one this weekend. I’ll give Wilder props for facing a guy who almost KO’ed him and he doesn’t have to. Wilder KO’s all other guys on this list until he loses that one punch ability.
Usyk will school and knock out Wilder. They will fight in 2020 in a great event, after Wilder KO Fury. Whyte will be decimated by Wilder if they ever fight. Yoka will emerge in 2020-2021 as the next big thing at HW and will KO Usyk and whoever of the top guys at HW dare to face him. Yoka should remainds clean though, failed drug test indicate a dark side on him

Usyk isn’t knocking out anybody other than bums. He’s got some good boxing ability but no way he beats Wilder.

This looks like wishful thinking to say the least. Fury doesn’t want the fight. Nor Fury’s wife or father. So he aint got the confidence. Usik people moving slow as molasses and would never put him in the ring with Wilder. You dont know enough about Ruiz except 1 fight his opponent quit. Not gonna even address the others are laughable at this time

Ortiz needs to stay close to Wilder. Use his jab to bother Wilder, get closer and set up the big shots. if he stays outside he will run into a straight right and perhaps more.
