Mem Ferda sidekicks’ his way into British Comedy GRIDIRON UK
Mem Ferda cast in Gridiron UK. Mem Ferda’s casting in Gridiron UK (2012) answers the question of whether or not the British actor would make a cameo appearance in the Gary Delaney directed film or not. “Mem who plays the role of ‘Sidekick’ said ‘this is my first ever comedy feature film in sixteen years’ it’s exciting to be a part of it. It is a very funny script and a unique idea so I wanted to be involved as a co-producer as well as doing a cameo role within the film.'”
About Gridiron UK:
One man’s dream of starting an American football team… in Crewe, England!
The film is set in 1985 in Crewe, Cheshire, England. In a country dominated by Football, Rugby, Cricket and Fish & Chips, one man risked everything to play American Football.
On a cold November morning eleven ordinary British men turn up to try-out for the newly formed American Football team named Crewe Railroaders. Derek bluffs his way and becomes the self assigned owner of the team. Over the next few weeks the team grows in size. A Black African American called James becomes the new football coach, however he knows nothing about American Football! The team physiotherapist knows nothing about injuries, the cheerleaders haven’t got a clue how to dance or cheer. Follow the hilarious exploits of this bunch of beer drinking British guys and Derek’s quest to succeed at all costs even at the expense of everything he holds dear to him.
