Okay, here goes. You’ve seen me comment numerous times on this site and yes I do live in a very old house that was a farm back when it was new. It’s really very simple and nothing to get all excited about. The oldest part of the house is the living room. Just before this room goes into the next, there are two tall square pillars with ledges going to the outer walls. On one of those ledges is a 20 gallon fish tank. I have an old bakelight headboard lamp hanging on the far side of the tank. The tank needs a cleaning, so the water is somewhat murky.
I’m sitting about five feet from the tank on the couch and you can see the light illuminate the front wall, where the door and picture window is. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the door darken a bit. I glanced over and amazingly, a very tall dark shadow person moves along that wall, across the window and out through the corner.
This house is haunted inside and out. I’ve seen many movements through the years we have been here. Was I afraid, No. I hear lots of noises but most of the time it’s one of our 3 cats. It’s actually just dumb luck I catch these things. I really don’t mind and I just say “hi, how ya doing and make yourself at home,” because whoever it is lived here before me. I wish more people had this attitude towards our unseen visitors!

I have seen a Shadow Man, as well. I was home alone one night(husband worked the night shift that week) and was preparing a salad for dinner. Suddenly I felt as though someone had come up and stood behind me. There was no cold feeling, but it felt rather warm like an actual living person was standing behind me. At first I thought it was one of my four cats, although I couldn’t understand why they would be interested in a salad without any meat in it. So I turned to look and found myself face to face with a Shadow Man. He was just standing there looking over my shoulder at what I was doing. He wasn’t much taller than me, I am only 5 feet tall, and he was just a few inches taller than that. He was not wearing a hat, and I could tell that his hair was short, but the top of his hair stood up very high. I could see that he clearly had features(face,eyes,nose,mouth,etc.) but he was so dark that I couldn’t make them out. After I stared at him for a few seconds, he just slowly disappeared. I too wasn’t afraid, as I felt nothing but curiosity coming from him.
i too have seen a shadow man much like what you describe. he wasn’t tall and he was a black outline of a man. he was backlit by a sunny blinded window. i did a double take and poof he was gone!
thats cool that your let them stay there. If i had ghost id let them stay if they didnt mean harm their just like us, they use to be humans too.
i can’t kick em out lol. this house is 123 years old. it has a interesting history. i do have some other expiriences of our outdoors ghosts. we have found numerous iron pieces from a barn.

question what if your perants bought a house that no one lived in and the area was bush even since my mom was a kid and my folks had been living in that house for over 30years yet we had funny things happen there from i was 9years up till we moved
I am glad to hear your take on having them around. I have grown accustomed to my “unseen guests”. Every once in awhile something happens, I hear a sound or get that “someone’s there” feeling but I just say hi and ask that they not “sneak up on me”. I go about my day and just chat to them once in awhile.
If I ever get brave enough I will submit some of my experiences, I have been having them since I was young and living at home. I have had experiences in every house I have ever lived in and to be honest, except for a couple times, I think it has always been the same person- just dont know who.

I agree with this to a certain point if they spirits are friendly and playful then sure welcome them and allow them to stay but would you say this if they were harmful spirits that tortured you every day and left marks on you? Nope then you would have that place exercised in no time at all.
See I told you I would read it troll doll and I did. Shadow creatures are every where that is for sure. We don’t know what they are but I would bet that some are good and some are bad we just don’t know which ones that are the good ones.
I’ve seen a shadow lady actually once, though I wasn’t as brave as you. I got the whole family together and totally freaked out repetitively calling Gods name(ha ha lol). I only saw it once and it didn’t even do anything to me, I totally freaked out like a maniac. thanks for posting your story glad to know someone else experienced something similar bi:)
Hi trolldoll, I love your attitude I wish everyone had the same attitude to, I myself live in an older house from just before the war, and dont see the ‘old woman’ ghost but she makes herself known by locking my toilet door every other day at the same time. I have mini one sided conversations with her when I feel she is near, never have I felt anything negative.
One thing I was going to say – I am not religious but my mum once called a priest in due to a ‘shadow figure’ < I say shadow figure but this was a white 'shadow'. The priest came in and did some blessing on the house and from then on the house was more calm we still seen things but the place did not seem as restless. If you get that restless feel it might be worth a try.
thank you for the nice comments! i don’t look for things to be mean or evil. that goes for everybody and everything. i wasn’t raised to see the bad. i’m not religious either. as far as this house having other residents and what it says in the abstract, i feel the people who started this town and lived here all those years ago, were hard working folk and they helped each other out. i’m sure if i had a recorder, i would probably hear something. soon i will tell of another couple of more interesting things that have happened. sometimes it is hard to put into words the things we see and hear. some of these happenings are a bit strange even to me. i like to call this house, “LIGHTLY HAUNTED”.
i have seen a shadow man he was standing in my hall staring at me i just kinda closed my eye opend it and it was gone couldnt get to slepp for weeks
If this was me – i would get the hell outta there !! .. im sorry but i just dont understand why a ghost would b attached to the fish tank …
The fish tank was there but I dont think anyone said that a ghost was attached to it did they?
the light of the fish tank made the shadow appear that big on the wall is all. i had the fish tank light on and another softly lit light. i didn’t see anything in the room moving and i don’t think a fish could make a shadow that big.
