Amstel brewery to be closed: Heineken N.V. said it will close Amstel Brewery Canada Ltd., a 100 percent-owned subsidiary of Heineken, because of a history of losses. Heineken said the recession and stagnant beer market offered no prospects for a reversal of Amstel Brewery`s fortunes.
