Internet Services Partially Suspended in Rawalpindi/ Islamabad

It has emerged that cellular internet services have been partially shut down in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It is directed that to the mobile network operators in order to stop Azadi March attendants from streaming the rally on social media.

Two days earlier, internet services were intruded in Pakistan following a fault in international submarine cables that connect Pakistan. The services were fully restored in some hours.

A source that has asked to remain anonymous has revealed that the cellular services are disrupted in the capital of Pakistan as per the directives issued by the Punjab government.

According to a spokesperson of PTA, the internet service is blocked due to the security concerns and for the safety of citizens residing here. Furthermore, the areas stretched 4 km from the Azaadi March will have to face difficulties for the whole day.
