With the commitment of providing health care products and services in Papua New Guinea, SESAGO Health Care Limited officially opened its first retail outlet ‘Discount Pharmacy’ in Port Moresby yesterday.

SESAGO Sales and Marketing manager Pradeep Panda said as one of the leading distributors of health care products and services, and after operating in Papua New Guinea for more than 10 years, SESAGO is trying to diversify its operations and retailing is one of the sectors that they are now venturing into.

He said because PNG has limited number of pharmacists in most of the rural areas there is a big gap in the market, which is why SESAGO ventured into retailing to fill that gap.

SESAGO being one of the pharmaceutical distributors, there is symmetry with them having retailers also because they distribute now to all provincial hospitals and mines throughout the country.

The newly opened Discount Pharmacy has a pharmacy, a nursing station and a personal, body and baby health care section as well.

Mr Panda said their objective is to give the right quality product to their customers at a cheap price. They want to act like a community pharmacy by communicating more with their customers and let their customers benefit more from the pharmacy.
