TRANSFER RUMOURS: Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle.

Mark Apostolou brings us all the rumours fresh from his Sportingo desk…

The transfer rumours rumble on – but how many of the moves will actually happen? Chelsea, Sevilla, AC Milan and Dinamo Zagreb also feature in this news bulletin of newspaper gossip.

It has emerged that following chaotic events in Serie A this weekend Brazilian superstar Kaka is edging nearer a move to the Premier League – and Arsenal are apparently edging Chelsea for his signature (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Both London clubs are ready to pounce after Kaka admitted to considering his future at AC Milan. The Brazilian has been shocked by the recent crowd violence in Italy and warned fans: “If you continue with such violence, I could leave Italy. My wife and parents often come to the stadiums to see me play and I am concerned for the safety of my family.”

The scenes that followed the tragic shooting of a young Lazio fan have been shocking, to say that least, and it could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Kaka has been in terrific form in recent weeks but has been fairly open in his glowing thoughts of the Premier League, and especially with Arsene Wenger’s in-form Gunners side.

Will he come to the Emirates or Stamford Bridge? My heart says yes as he is the most exciting player on the planet right now, but it seems far more likely he will move to La Liga if he leaves the Champions League holders.

Big Sam Allardyce has joined the race for Sevilla winger Diego Capel. The Newcastle boss joins a raft of other sides including Arsenal and Tottenham in a fight for the 19-year-old’s signature (DiarioSport).

Spanish Under-20 talent Capel apparently has a £7million buyout clause and Sevilla are anxious to open talks about a new deal. But the youngster may find the lure of the Premier League too much to resist. Be warned, though, Arsenal fans – he has been dubbed the new Jose Antonio Reyes in some circles!

Much-vaunted Croat Luka Modric appears set to be the subject of a £15m bid from Chelsea (various).
Croatian tabloids say Avram Grant’s side are willing to pay that figure for the midfield dynamo and Dinamo Zagreb are weighing up whether to cash in on their star man in the January market.

Modric is a player that many Arsenal fans had hoped would be joining them after being a Wenger target for many months. However, it now appears that the Frenchman has cooled his interest somewhat, not least because he is already blessed with an array of talent – and may feel that the fee being bandied about could be better spent on a keeper.
