Man Threatened To Kill Mother, Sister During Portland Dispute

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

When they received a call on Sunday morning about a domestic dispute at a home on (470) Main Street, Portland Police learned that guns might be present at the scene.

Officers Gary Jarzabek and Dave Bond arrived at the home at around 10:45 a.m. and spoke with the residents, who reported that their 29-year-old son Troy Nursick had “flipped out,” grabbed his sister and threatened to kill her and his mother.

When police spoke with Nursick, who had fled to his bedroom on the second floor, they say he became violent, made additional threats and told the police to leave the home. Two officers from the Middletown Police Department arrived to provide back up, said Jarzabek. After talking with Nursick for some time, he agreed to give himself up and was taken to the Middletown Police Department where he was charged with four counts of threatening and disorderly conduct. After his arrest, Portland Police found a loaded 40-caliber pistol in Nursick’s bedroom, which Jarzabeck said was within his reach while he was talking with police.

Nursick was held on $150,000 bond and appeared at Middletown Superior Court on Monday morning.
