Women’s Support Group Aims To Help In Fight Against Prostate Cancer

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center in January will start a new support group called Women Against Prostate Cancer.

Women who have men in their lives with prostate cancer often need support to cope with the changes and fears that this disease brings into relationships. They not only face the challenge of helping their partners through treatment, but also the changes in physical and emotional intimacy that can occur with the disease.

The group is the official Connecticut Chapter of the national Women Against Prostate Cancer organization, and the only chapter in the state.

For information about the group, go to http://www.womenagainstprostatecancer.org or call Dorothy Carvalho at 860-358-2043.
