Iraq – Demonstrators split over Allawi’s mandate to form a government

The views of the demonstrators in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad were divided after the commission of Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi to form the new Iraqi government, some demonstrators confirmed their adherence to the demand for an independent person to form a government and for him not to be a subordinate to any of the political parties or blocs that currently govern Iraq, while some felt that giving Allawi a chance could end the demonstrations if he implements popular demands.
