SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Three men were arrested Monday following gunfire and a seven-mile car chase that ended on College Parkway, the Fort Myers Police Department said. Tommy Alexander, 23, of Fort Myers, Terrence T. Moore, 19, of Fort Myers, and Javaris D. Wilson, 19, of Fort Myers are facing drug and weapons charges. The chase ended at about 11 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of College Parkway and Whiskey Creek Drive. Bullets flew through at least three homes on the 2700 block of Market Street in Fort Myers at about 10:30 p.m., forcing children inside to take cover, police said. The car topped 100 mph as it sped away from officers, police said. The chase ended when the car suffered tire and engine damage. About a dozen police cruisers surrounded the car and officers drew their guns as they made someone inside get out. Officers could be seen placing a man inside one of the cruisers. Westbound traffic on College Parkway was blocked at Summerlin Road, and eastbound traffic was blocked at Whiskey Creek Drive before police cleared the scene. A helicopter was hovering overhead.
