Authorities are reporting an aircraft struck a light pole on the runway at Page Field Airport before it crashed into a fence. According to the Lee County Port Authority, nobody was injured from what happened on Monday, at around 12 noon. The plane was damaged after striking the light pole. The plane’s owners, who are in Illinois, said they are in touch with Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies regarding the incident. Flight operations at Page Field won’t be impacted by the incident. The plane was not ever in the air at any point, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. One person was taxiing around 1 a.m. We know there’s damage to the plane, and the left propeller and wing are damaged. One of the owners of the plane said it hasn’t been flown in years. She said she doesn’t know what happened with the plane, but it’s scary and dangerous, and she is thankful no one was hurt.
