Eagles Safety Kurt Coleman Doesn’t Receive Fine For Hit on Austin Collie

Indianapolis Colts receiver Austin Collie suffered a concussion in Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, yet no fines will be given for the helmet-to-helmet hit.

Collie caught a pass from Peyton Manning when he got hit from the side by Eagles safety Quintin Mikell. Mikell’s hit pushed Collie right into the path of fellow safety Kurt Coleman, whose helmet knocked right into the back of Collie's helmet.

Because helmet-to-helmet contact was accidental, the NFL is not going to discipline any players. Colts linebacker and defensive captain Gary Brackett agrees with the NFL.

"I don't think you can (fine him)," Brackett said. "I didn't really see the hit until the replays, but things happen and I don't think it was intentional. You don’t have the luxury to not hit someone."

The video below proves that the hit wasn’t intentional as it shows Coleman right behind Collie getting ready for the tackle when Mikell hit him first, knocking the receiver into Coleman.

"It's tough to see a teammate down on the field like that, but I don't [think] the hit was intentional. But you don't want to see a guy down not moving," said Brackett.
