Soma’s Highway One road handlebar and shapely Clarence “flat” bar are getting new add-on extensions that give you new hand positions…or just another place to mount accessories.

Sold only as a bundle with the handlebars (for now), the Cletus extensions can be mounted a couple of ways to give you even more options.

The Clarence handlebar provides a more natural hand and wrist position, but it’s forward bend from the center makes it weird to mount lights, computers, etc. Add the new Cletus extensions, though, and you can create a straight section in front of the bar for mounting all the things.

Or flip them over to create “aero” extensions for more hand positions on longer rides. The bundle is called the Clarence II and retails for $120. Combined weight with extensions is 600g (claimed), and it measures 670mm wide.

The Highway bar with extensions bundle is called the Highway 17 and comes in widths from 38 to 46 centimeters. Claimed weight with extensions is 610g and retail is $150.

Oversized clamps make it easy to maneuver them around the bars during installation, using shims inside once you have them positioned. They can be rotated to form a loop, or stick mostly straight out, whichever you prefer.

I think they’re still for sale on the Cinelli website 🙂
They’re the old, smaller diameter standard though 🙁

This is old news. In fact, you already reported about this yourselves in July: https://bikerumor.com/soma-fabrications-new-alt-handlebars-add-adjustable-extensions-for-extra-hand-positions/
