Ladakh: The tension between India and China on Ladakh borders have escalated since the last five months. Initially, China tried to infiltrate several times and provoke India. However, this has completely reversed now because of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Snow Leopard’, which has exposed every move of China.

When China attempted to infiltrate the border, the army waited for three months for China to return. Thereafter Army Chief General M.M. Narvane and Commander Lt Gen YK Joshi approved this ‘Operation Snow Leopard’.

Under this operation, strategically strong hills near LAC were identified. On the basis of these hills, India can utilize these conditions for further activities on border and also strategically always be few steps ahead of China. A team is formed to carry out operations which would be able to fight in the high hills. Each team is given the task to capture the hill and keep the supply chain running smoothly.

During this operation, the army captured Pangong Lake in the South, North area, as well as made some inroads in few other important places along the border. After this mission, the Army’s Special Force is now in commanding position on the border along the debated area. An effort is made by the army to dominate the position and patrolling site of the Chinese Army.

A large number of soldiers have been deployed by the Army, so that the situation happened to be before April could be restored, if the diplomatic talks are left unsuccessful. LAC has a large presence not only in the Pangong or Demchok area but also in areas like Daulat Beg Oldi, Depsang.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a statement in the Lok Sabha on the ongoing dispute with China. Rajnath Singh said that in the past few days China has violated the agreements many times and tried to change the situation of LAC. However, India is not ready for war and wants to resolve the issue by negotiation. Meanwhile it is ready to face any situation.
