The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Wednesday that the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup final will be held at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on May 20.

This is the first major continental club competition final to be held at the venue, which is also the home ground of NPFL team Akwa United.

The CAF Confederation Cup final was held in Cotonou, Republic of Benin, last year, with Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic defeating Algeria’s JS Kabylie 2-1.

The fight for the last match of this season’s competition is down to four teams.

TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo beat RS Berkane of Morocco 1-0 in the first leg of one of the semi-finals.

The first leg between Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli and South Africa’s Orlando Pirates ended with Orlando Pirates winning 2-0.

The semi-finals’ second legs will be played on Sunday.
