Imprisoned former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is blaming a child victim’s parents for their daughter’s emotional distress. Fogle is blaming them deflecting from his own actions because that victim is suing him for $300,000 for emotional distress over video recordings of her and other minors changing clothes or bathing.
Fogle’s attorneys filed court papers Thursday arguing that the girl’s divorced parents had a “hateful and abusive relationship toward each other” which he claims played out in front of her regularly. The lawyers say that caused the girl emotional and psychological damage before the secret videos were discovered.
Fogle is serving a 15.5-year prison sentence, handed down to him by Federal District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, for receiving child pornography and traveling to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
