At least eleven suspects have been arrested in Lenasia for violating the COVID-19 protocols under level three of the national lockdown.

Police say the suspects were handcuffed on Sunday for failing to abide by the curfew which has been set from 9pm to 5am.

The police’s Bafana Ndimande says the suspects failed to produce permits that allow them to be out  during the curfew period.

“The police arrested ten  males and one female and they were detained at Lenasia SAPS cells, and they will appear shortly at Lenasia Magistrates Court.”

Ndimande has appealed to the community to be vigilant at all times and adhere to the regulations of the Disaster Management Act Level 3 including avoiding public gatherings.
