Sketchbook Project – Abstract Yoga

Sketchbook Project | Abstract Yoga | Sandra Burns Art

This week I want to share my sketchbook project “Abstract Yoga”, which follows on from last week’s post “Watercolour Yoga“.

This abstract sketch evolved from one of my yoga sketches.

The task at hand was to select one of our yoga sketches and trace it to give a good outline drawing. Then take this outline drawing and trace it again, this time overlapping the first.

And lastly, to fill blocks of colour within the overlapped images. All the while, retaining aspects of light and shadow to define the two separate images.

Here’s what I did:

I chose to keep my image in black and white as this has the most striking contrast.

I like how this evolved into a pleasing image.

What do you think of my Abstract Yoga?

I loved this challenging task, and I think I did okay.

Thanks for following my art journey!
