Tell us about your business and the story behind its creation!
I’ve been a groomer for around 10 years and recently decided to add in gourmet dog treats. Animals have been my interest since as far back as I can remember. My mom always let me have all the pets! I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn to groom at an animal hospital that I used to work for. They were a very supportive team that helped me grow my skill. I enjoy grooming dogs because I’m able to make them feel good with a nice bath and fresh cut, plus I love how happy thr owners get when they pick up their fresh pup!

What products and services do you offer? What makes them unique?
I run my grooming shop as a humanity vs. vanity approach, meaning I always keep the dog’s comfort in mind first. I work on one family’s dog(s) at a time to minimize the dog’s time away from their family. We all love to treat our pups and I wanted to know exactly what was in my own dogs’ treats and thought everyone else should have a simple ingredient list as well. I provide an everyday snack size treat and also make frosted gourmet treats. Custom orders can also be placed. I love making the frosted treats the most. They’re fun to do and adore me too be creative and try new designs. I also love how excited pet owners are to give their dogs my treats!

What do you love most about running your own business and being a business owner?
I’m proud to have made the step to work for myself. It allows me the freedom to be creative and to be flexible with my schedule so I can spend more time with my family.

What has been one of the most memorable experiences or opportunities that you’ve experienced since opening your business?
My best moments have been when customers contact me telling me how much they love their pet’s groom or how much their dog loved the cookies I made. It’s nice knowing I’ve made someone’s day and their pet happy too!

What advice would you give to aspiring business owners?
I would tell them to never give up, no matter how hard it might be. When they say, “But what if I fail?” I say, “But what if you don’t?” We never know what the future will hold and we only live once, so give it a shot. You’ll never know if you don’t try.
