Porsche To Showcase new all-electric Macan at Gaming Lifestyle Festival, Present MVP Award at OWCS Major Final
ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the world’s leading esports and gaming entertainment company, today announced sports car manufacturer Porsche as the Exclusive Automotive Partner of the first-ever Overwatch® Championship Series (OWCS) Major at Dreamhack Dallas. Taking place the weekend of May 31 to June 2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the collaboration marks Porsche’s first major partnership with an esports tournament operator, and an expansion of the brand’s partnership with Overwatch 2.
“Porsche’s history of innovation and groundbreaking design are uniquely aligned with the Overwatch community’s passionate and tech-savvy fans,” said Jasmin Haasbach, VP, Global Brand Partnerships, ESL FACEIT Group. “We’re excited to bring these two celebrated brands together at DreamHack Dallas.”
As an official partner, Porsche will celebrate the OWCS Major player who drives their team to greatness by crowning the competition’s Most Valuable Player. After crowning the winner on Sunday after the Grand Finale, fans can meet and greet the MVP at the new all-electric Porsche Macan right in front of the OWCS Major stage for photo and signature opportunities. Fans will also get exclusive access to custom content linked to Porsche’s new all-electric Macan model –the inspiration behind one of Overwatch’s latest Legendary skins for D.Va.
“This is the perfect setting for Porsche’s first partnership with an esports tournament,” said Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). “OWCS and festivals like DreamHack offer new avenues to inspire the gaming community and reach the next generation of drivers, showcasing incredible new cars, like the new all-electric Macan, at the same time.”
DreamHack Dallas is one of North America’s biggest gaming festivals, featuring meet-and-greets with creators and celebrities, cosplay competitions, an indie gaming showcase, and more. This year’s three-day celebration of gaming culture will build off the success of the DreamHack Dallas 2023, which saw a record-setting 44,000 attendees, the most ever for a DreamHack festival in North America.
