Mogadishu – Somalia’s Military Court has handed down death sentence and imprisonment to two police officers who have been found guilty of opening fire to two sisters in a rickshaw ride in Mogadishu.
The Military Court, on December 7, has given to Hassan Hussein Mohamed a death sentence and Hassan Muse Warsame to five years in prison and to pay restitution for the injury of Fatima Ahmed Abdulle.
The incident took place on September 7th in a checkpoint in the area where police officers were stationed on that day and their bullets killed Istar Ahmed Abdulle and injured her sister Fatuma Ahmed Abdulle.
The chairman of the Armed Forces Court, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ali Nur Shuute, said those dissatisfied with the ruling could file an appeal after this verdict in thirty days.
