OUT NOW: The Splendid Ghetto Pipers – „Nightpier“

The Splendid Ghetto Pipers are a Free-Form-Duo, who play improvisational Music in the Fields and Terms of Ambient, Drone and Minimalism.

The Splendid Ghetto Pipers – Nightpier

In late August 2013 The Splendid Ghetto Pipers played an improvised Ambient-Concert at the Fleischervorstadt-Festival in Greifswald. These Recordings are now released on „Nightpier“.

This is maybe the most ambient-like Recording of the Freeform-Duo until now – in a Meaning of absorbing and generating „Atmosphere“, „Mood“ and „Environment“.

After a wrenching Intro with warm, buzzing Chords on the one, and thin, eerie Notes on the other Guitar, Bassbees and Huey Walker aka The Splendid Ghetto Pipers slip into a 35 minutes lasting, nightmoonish Journey through fluxionary Sounds. Minimal Guitar-Strummings, large Rooms of Reverb and some gurgly Synthnotes generate a feel of sublime Chill and rural Quietness – maybe a little twin-peakish in its mild-mossy, moon-gloomy Verve.

This Music seems to play itself, as if it was a quiet Evening-Wave coming through an open window with ultralight Draperies (do you see this distant Jefferson-Airplane-Reference, here?! ;)).
