Broken Link

Have you ever felt as though everything is going wrong? Circumstances in which you find yourself are those you never dreamed would happen in your circle of friends and family. Situations you were certain would never occur in your safe world. Faith gone awry; hopes shattered; relationships severed; grief and uncertainty flowing over you slowly and heavily like lava until you can’t take another breath? You’re sure your heart will stop. Your prayers are full of tearful pleas which you thought you would never have to utter. Pleas you are not even able to utter because they too are consumed by the lava. But there you are, laying awake all night drenching your pillow with your tears.

If you have felt this way, you are not alone. I get it though, that you feel alone. Prayers seemingly going nowhere, fluttering from your lips just to be consumed by the lava, buried, burned, unanswered. A lost connection.

Like a “broken link”. We enter our user ID and password and receive the message that there’s a “broken link”, and we can’t be connected to the site we are trying to access. I mean, it’s the internet, right? We expect instant access: see what we want when we want; get what we want when we want and shut it down when we want. Right? Right, until we get the “broken link” message. Then we are helpless, spiraling out of control as we struggle to connect to the site we are searching for.

Exactly what is it that we are searching for? What is it we want? We want instant gratification. Immediate satisfaction. Relief. As Victoria Aragon says in A Walk in the Clouds”, “the heart wants what the heart wants”. But the bible says in Jeremiah 17:9 KJV, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Hmmmm, ok, so maybe the “broken link” is the result of a wicked heart, so what do we do? We try a different browser, one that aligns more closely with what our heart wants! If Duck Duck Go doesn’t work, why not try Chrome? If Chrome doesn’t work, well, we’ll pick another browser to try to link us to what we want. The truth though, is that without Jesus, we suffer from a very serious heart condition, our wicked heart is the “broken link” robbing us of a relationship with Jesus Christ. No internet browser can remedy our heart condition. But Jesus can. Jesus can!

When you feel like your world is falling apart, staring at the blinking “broken link” message, you can choose to accept the Perfect Browser! The Spiritual Browser that links you directly to the Throne room of God the Almighty Father!

I am so thankful that through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, I have a direct link to God the Father. A direct link to the Throne room where I am accepted, loved and heard! Heard like a good Father hears His child. I am that child, and you are that child! If you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, and believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, He provides the unbreakable link to the Eternal God, your Father!

Jeremiah 29:12:14 says, 12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and I will [free you and] gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’

We have the choice to lay our broken and battered heart in His hands and enjoy an eternal connection! Never will we get a “broken link” message from our heavenly Father!

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV, says Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

My Father, I am always seeking assurances from You; that I am loved; that I am not overlooked; that I am heard; that You see me, and that I am forgiven. Thank You that You have settled these issues. Now my anxieties can lose their hold as I go on to mature in You, to assure others, to love, to esteem and to forgive. Open my eyes to see You more clearly. I love you, Lord.
