The M.I.N.K. Baseball league will have a new team this summer. The league voted unanimously to add the Carroll, Iowa Merchants. They will compete in the North Division, joining the Chillicothe Mudcats, Clarinda A’s, Des Moines Peak Prospects and St Joseph Mustangs. The South division will have Jefferson City, Joplin, Nevada, and Sedalia.
The Carroll, Iowa Merchants play in Merchants Park, built in 1949. Since 2015 the community has put almost two-million dollars in renovations and upgrades to the stadium. The team previously played in the Pioneer League.
In other MINK league decisions, the League All-Star Game will be in Clarinda, Iowa in 2022 and in Chillicothe in 2023.
