One of my favorite recent projects was sewing these moleskine journals for my friends Laura and Karen who hosted a bridal shower for me back in June.
I wanted to make them something small and simple, but with a touch of personalization and hand-craftedness.
I had always wanted to make the journals I saw in the “Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts” book by Joelle Hoverson, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
These didn’t take long to make, and I’m now thinking about using my scraps from quilting to make more for my etsy store. Keep an eye out for them this fall!
One thing to remember is that if you are sewing through paper or cardstock (as I did on our wedding invitations and save the dates) or journal covers, use a needle that is designated for this job, as it gets dull quickly and won’t work so well on fabric after a project like this.
