The Destination Imagination Global Finals return to campus this week. This is the 18th year the event has been held in Knoxville.

The annual four-day event focuses on fostering creativity and curiosity through hands-on challenges, camps, and workshops. The events will host more than 17,000 people, culminating in what DI calls “the world’s largest celebration of creativity.”

Student teams will compete in challenges that test their technical, scientific, engineering, fine arts, improvisational, and service-learning abilities.

Teams will begin checking in on Wednesday, May 23. Competition events will run from Thursday, May 24, through Saturday, May 26, when the closing ceremony will be held at 4 p.m.

Most DI events are closed to the public and require event passes. View the schedule of events.

DI Global Finals events will be held in multiple locations on campus and in the surrounding area, including the Knoxville Convention Center, World’s Fair Park, the Student Recreation and Fitness Center (TRECS), the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, and Thompson-Boling Arena.
