NBE, Banque Misr, CIB Set To Finance Abu Rawash Wastewater Plant

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Commercial International Bank (CIB) and Banque Misr approved to finance the construction of Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant which is a public-private partnership project in their meeting with the Ministry of Finance last week.

The plant has a construction cost of EGP 5 billion and treatment capacity of 1.6 million cubic meters. The Ministry of Finance conducts a bid to select the company that will construct the project.

There are five alliances offering their bids to the Ministry of Finance to construct the project. The first alliance is comprised of UAE-headquartered Metito Overseas Limited, subsidiary of Gulf Capital, and Germany’s HOCHTIEF. The second alliance is led by Orascom Construction Industries, Spain’s Aqualia Gestion Integral del Agua, France’s Veolia Water and an Egyptian company. The third alliance is comprised of Concord for Contracting, Greater Cairo Sanitary Drainage Company and a Chinese company. The fourth alliance is comprised of the Arab Contractors and a French company. In addition, Kharafi National also submitted its bid to the tender.
