Hatem Saleh: Egypt’s Finance Allocates EGP30 mln For Al Robeky Project

The Egyptian Ministry of Finance approved allocating EGP 30 million to complete the construction of Al Robeky project, and to increase the capacity of the waste-water treatment unit from 4000 to 24.000 square meters in order to meet the needs of the tanneries, said the Egyptian Minister of Industry, Eng. Hatem Saleh.

The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is in charge of following the completion of the rest units of the project, said Saleh, adding that the project is financed by cooperating with the Italian side according to the Debt for Development Swap Program; moreover, it will be implemented on several phases with 3 years.

The Minister of Industry added that the first phase includes allocating units and facilities for the tanneries, and lands for the tanneries’ owners, pursuant to the applications that submitted to the IDA from July to September 2012

During the coming three months, Saleh said, the second phase of receiving the applications will start, elaborating that the third phase of the project will be offered to the local and foreign investments by the industrial developer system.
