Lazio Coach Sarri: “Correa Could Be a Left-Sided Forward if He Has the Desire”

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri confirmed that Argentinian forward Joaquin Correa could still fit into his plans next season.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference earlier today (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach highlighted how the 26-year-old Argentine forward could still play a role in the new 4-3-3 system.

Correa could be a left-sided forward if he has the desire and the motivation to do so. For some time, he had expressed the desire to change environment, if when he comes back, he has changed his mind, I’d be the happiest of all and I’d ask him how willing he is to start on the left.

Premier League sides Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain, are all interested in signing the Argentinian forward, but Lazio want around €35-40 million for the player, a large sum in the post-Covid market.

Correa made 28 Serie A appearances last season under previous coach Simone Inzaghi, for a total of 1945 minutes. In that time, he scored eight goals and provided four assists.
