589 fresh COVID cases, 9 more deaths recorded in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded 589 fresh coronavirus cases while nine deaths took place in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cases to 88,958 and death toll due to the disease to 1,397 in the union territory, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 241 are from Jammu and 348 from the Kashmir valley, the officials said.

Srinagar district reported the highest number of 136 new cases, followed by 118 in Jammu district, the officials said.

There are 8,124 active cases of COVD-19, while 79,437 patients have recovered so far, they said.

Meanwhile, nine deaths took place in the last 24 hours – three in Jammu region and six in the Valley — taking the death toll to 1,388, the officials said.

Giving district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 17944 positive cases (including 136 cases reported today) with 1715 Active Positive, 15894 recovered (including 195 cases recovered today), 335 deaths; Baramulla has 5285 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 1304 Active Positive, 3845 recovered (including 22 cases recovered today), 136 deaths; Pulwama reported 4463 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 271 active positive cases, 4114 recovered (including 38 cases recovered today), 78 deaths; Kulgam has 2049 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 92 Active Positive, 2271 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today), 46 deaths; Shopian has 2130 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 89 Active Positive, 2006 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today) and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4038 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today) with 347 Active Positive, 3620 recovered (including 45 cases recovered today), 71 deaths;  Budgam has 5697 positive cases (including 34 cases reported today) with 397 Active Positive and 5210 recovered (including 41 cases recovered today), 90 deaths; Kupwara has 4098 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 314 Active Positive, 3713 recovered (including 02 cases recovered today), 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3897 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 287 Active Positive, 3568 recovered (including 25 cases reported today), 42 deaths and  Ganderbal has 3341 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 230 active positive cases, 3081 recoveries (including 44 cases recovered today) and 30 deaths.

In Jammu division, Jammu district has 16340 positive cases (including 118 cases reported today) with 1057 active positive cases, 15044 recoveries (including 143 cases recovered today), 239 deaths; Rajouri has 3132 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 288 active positive cases, 2799 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Ramban has 1525 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 74 active positive, 1439 recoveries (including 01 cases recovered today) and 12 deaths; Kathua has 2342 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 53 Active positive, 2259 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Udhampur has 2582 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 115 active positive cases, 2440 recovered (including 12 cases reported today) and 27 deaths; Samba has 2086 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 413 Active Positive, 1648 recoveries and 25 deaths; Doda has 2527 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 179 active positive cases, 2306 recoveries (including 52 cases recovered today), 42 deaths; Poonch has 2161 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 559 active positive, 1580 recoveries (including 50 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1209 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today), with 112 active positive, 1090 recoveries and 07 deaths while Kishtwar has 1752 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today), with 228 active positive cases and 1510 recoveries  (including 38 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.
