Happiness.

Long time no see, captain. I’ve been busy studying for exams and finishing the last papers for this semester at University, therefore I could not spend as much time on Medium as I would have liked to.

This week I passed one of the biggest, if not the biggest, exam in Law school. It’s one of those exams where you’ll hear plenty of horror stories of people failing several times and going crazy about it. I passed. Actually: I passed on my first try. It was one of those times where I did not realise what just happened. The grade was there. I passed but I didn’t feel happy about it right away.

It took me a good 30 minute on the phone with my girlfriend to realise that now is indeed the time to be happy and reliefed.

The past three weeks of waiting to get graded have been full of ups and downs for me: I always start to weigh my chances of passing after finishing an exam.

What did I do wrong?

What did I do right?

How will the Professor value the things I wrote down?

For this exam, I came to the conclusion that — logically spoken — I should pass, because there were three parts giving 40%, 40% and 20%, I solved one of the 40% parts quite good. My personal thoughts were that I would not pass because I just wrote down way too many irrelevant and wrong things.

Now there are a few more days of complete happiness and relief for me until I have to start studying for the oral part of the exam. Studying is going to feel easier this time because there’s a huge chunk I already managed to overcome.

It’s the little things in life that make me happy: Having a great day with my girlfriend, family or friends. Passing an important exam. Finally getting rid of my back pain after a week. Filming stuff, even if the outcome is not that great.

Until next time, see you.
